Dominion Farm Produce grows, packs and ships delicious onions under the Country Fresh Brand®. We distribute to local grocery stores as well as multi-national grocer chains.
Yellow cooking onions are grown locally and our season runs from august and then stored until May.
Yellow onions grown in the heart of Canada's vegetable industry, are very flavourful and healthy. Onions can be enjoyed raw, boiled, fried, sauteed, grilled and stir-fried. Yellow onions are your base for most hearty meals, like soups, stews, etc. Ontario onions are pungent and taste on the strong side.
Red onions are available locally from August to April. Red onions have a purple skin and white flesh inside. They are built to sweat in flavour and heat.
SUPERFOOD ALERT: "Onions as a superfood are still not well known. But they contain one of the highest concentrations of quercetin, a type of flavonoid, and Ontario onions boast particularly high levels of the compound compared to onions grown elsewhere in the world."
Our red and yellow onions are all packed in our brand new stainless steel facility, built in 2016. All equipment is state-of-the-art technology and meets our food safety standards.
